[Be prepared for new opportunities]

Lan is a homekeeper, who provides the hugely valuable role of taking care of her home and family so her husband is able to work and provide an income. However, Lan’s husband’s income became unstable due to the pandemic. To ease the financial strain and help her family, Lan wanted a part-time job. A friend of Lan introduced her MIW. MIW was able to provide Lan a free lunch to help ease that expense, and give her support to prepare for her new career. This involved assisting her in developing her job-hunting and interview skills through workshops.

With the help of MIW, Lan received a temporary job offer. She now works at a social welfare institute and manages the packaging of goods. Lan excitedly states: “I am very grateful and happy to have this job opportunity.” In addition to the improvement of her economic situation, Lan feels fulfilled and has grown in confidence.
