The French Chamber Gala Dinner: An evening of glamour and generosity
The French Chamber Gala Dinner took place on Friday 27 May at Grand Hyatt. Thanks to the generosity of the our guests and sponsors, the Gala Dinner this year enabled us to raise HKD1.9 million. Out of the HKD1.9 million, HKD600,000 was collected through the silent auction, and HK$500,000 was raised through the live auction. An additional HK$8,000 was raised through the generosity wave, allowing the audience to sponsor weeks of operation in our 3 Lunch Clubs.
The HK$1.9 million raised will go towards the Lunch Club funds. Last year with the money they accumulated, the FCF opened two new Lunch Clubs in Tsuen Wan and Mong Kok, making three including the original one in Wan Chai. The funds raised this year will not only support our existing centres but will make possible for us to open the 4th Lunch Club.
The main priorities in 2016 is to continue the operations and development of our existing lunch clubs, to further extend our network and to increase the number of successful job matching between minded companies and committed workers. So far, we see success in these aims and we hope to continue to meet our targets.
A huge thanks to our sponsors, benevolent guests, and the charismatic auctioneer, Mr. François Curiel, for helping us raise funds through the auction to help us continue this programme. As without their support, the auctions and generosity wave would not have been possible.
